Even though Steve Jobs left the day-to-day business activities at Apple several months before his death on Wednesday afternoon, many people have speculated that Jobs's influence will be felt at the company he helped to found for years to come. The Develop web site reports (http://www.develop-online.net/news/38828/Jobs-drafted-secret-four-year-Apple-plan-before-death) that a UK-based newspaper today claims to have info that Jobs left a four year product road map for Apple to follow after his death.
The report, which came via unnamed sources from The Times UK daily newspaper today, claims that road map includes new versions of Apple's flagship products like the MacBook notebook, the iPod media player, the iPhone and the iPad tablet. Indeed the newspaper claims that the next version of the iPhone will be what is called a "legacy device". It claims that the next version of the iPhone won't be released until late 2012 or early 2013. As we reported earlier this week, Apple announced plans to release the iPhone 4S one week from today on October 14.The article also brings up the speculation once again that Apple could be preparing to launch its next major product, which could see Apple-branded full sized televisions with a touch screen and Apple's iOS operating system running things inside. Jobs also helped to develop the iCloud service which will launch alongside iOS 5 when it becomes available on October 12. Jobs also worked hard to secure a new office building for Apple's worldwide headquarters in Cupertino, California a few months before he died.
